Privacy Policy
Huh. ("the App") is developed and published by tknzk ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the App does with your information. The short version: the App has no server and no accounts, and we never receive your photos, your location, or anything else you record.
1. What the App stores
When you record a find, the App stores the following on your device:
- Photos. Faces and licence plates are detected and blurred on your device immediately after capture, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The unblurred original is discarded and never written to storage.
- Location. If you allow location access, the App saves the coordinates of the find together with the town or district name. Exact coordinates are kept only on your device and in your own iCloud. The map in the App shows rounded areas rather than exact points, and share cards show only the city and the month.
- Specimen details. Category, serial number, date and time, title, and the field note you write.
- Pro entitlement. Whether you have purchased Huh. Pro, as reported by the App Store.
2. Where it is stored
All data is stored in the App's private storage on your device. If iCloud is enabled, specimen details and thumbnails are also synced to your personal iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit private database. Only you, signed in with your Apple Account, can access that data; we cannot. You can turn iCloud sync off in the App's settings.
We do not operate any server of our own. Nothing you record is sent to us.
3. Permissions the App asks for

4. Purchases
Huh. Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details, or billing address. Apple's handling of this information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Tracking, analytics and third parties
The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs and makes no network requests to third parties other than Apple services required for iCloud sync, Apple Maps, and the App Store. We do not track you across apps or websites.
6. Sharing
Share cards are images you generate yourself and send through the iOS share sheet. What you share, and with whom, is entirely under your control. Share cards include the city and month of a find but never the exact location.
7. Export and deletion
- You can delete any specimen inside the App. Deleting a specimen removes its photo file and details from your device and, if sync is on, from your iCloud.
- Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
- Data synced to iCloud can be removed from iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- Huh. Pro users can export their entire collection as a ZIP file from the App's settings.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because the App has no server, no personal information reaches us from any user.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
