Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Huh. iOS app ("the App"), developed and published by tknzk ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and, where these terms are silent, governs.
2. Your content
Photos, notes, and other content you record in the App are yours. We claim no rights over them and, because the App has no server, we never receive them. You are responsible for what you photograph and share. In particular, you agree to:
- photograph traces and objects, not people, and not to attempt to identify or expose anyone;
- respect private property, signage, and local laws while making finds;
- not share content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes the rights of others.
Automatic blurring of faces and licence plates is provided as a convenience and is not guaranteed to catch everything. Check an image before you share it.
3. Huh. Pro
Huh. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional categories and features. The purchase is processed by Apple and is tied to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the App Store and may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's refund policy; we cannot issue refunds directly. You can restore a previous purchase from the App's paywall or settings.
4. Data and backups
Your data is stored on your device and, optionally, in your own iCloud account. You are responsible for keeping backups, for example with the App's export feature or an iCloud or device backup. We are not responsible for loss of data caused by device failure, deletion, changes to your Apple Account, or iCloud behaviour.
5. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. Weekly prompts and categories may be revised between versions. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve your existing specimens across updates.
6. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Map data and place names come from Apple Maps and may be inaccurate.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for Huh. Pro, if any. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country provides otherwise.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The current version is always available at this page, and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised terms.
